Door four – familiar objects

   “And this became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, who lived in Ephesus; and fear fell upon them all and the name of the Lord-Jesus was being magnified. Many also of those who had believed kept coming, confessing and disclosing their practices. And many of those who practiced magic brought their books together and began burning them in the sight of all, and they counted up the price of them and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.” Acts 19:17-19

     In the spiritual world, a familiar object simply refers to any object in which a demon or evil spirit resides. If you have any familiar object in your positions winning the spiritual warfare is a thing of the past. Have you read the story of Israel before the city of Ai?

     Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. And they have even taken some of the things under the ban and have both stolen and deceived. Moreover, they have also put them among their own things. Joshua 7:11

     As a result of Achan’s actions the entire army of Israel was defeated in their next battle. This is a very solemn warning to us. If we have not cleaned out our homes as well as our lives, we will be defeated every time we try to fight against Satan.

     Familiar objects are things demons use to trap and invade people. In fact, thousands of Christians have been invaded because of these invisible ways, and they are invincible because many are just ignorant about them as mediums of demonic invasion. Some of these include, secular music, secular violent movies, horror movies, books of occultism, wearing the attire of somebody that has contrary spirits or dabbles in occultism, wearing things that bear occult symbols and diagrams, food on which spells have been casted, Sometimes Satanists will curse a gift and attach a demon to it and give it to someone unaware. Wearing a mesh of hair that belongs to an occultist or on which spells have been casted; dancing to the tune of demonic inspired music, or dances taught by demons, these all permit demons to invade you.

     Pornography materials – these include films, magazines, and anything that shows the nakedness of man or woman or their intercourse. Those who are involved in these acts are occultists, they cast a whole lot of spells on those materials so that they become familiar objects; whiles you are watching them the demons of uncontrollable sexual lust start invading you, before you realize you are a fornicator or adulterer! You cannot control you illicit sexual lust, the demons always make sure you are moved into doing it.

     Oh, how most people, especially the youth, are yield to watching these materials ignorantly. Many have downloaded them on their camera phones, on their palm tops, laptops, and all kinds of computers. Some are having their CDs and DVDs that they always watch. These have been the cause of much fornication among the youth. Those who do not fancy pornography films or literatures are, in fact, watching them in the secular movies. Most of modern movies you will see the actors and the actresses, sometimes, naked and some having literal intercourse. You didn’t buy any pornography material, but now you are watching one; that’s interesting – Satan is very wise! Note: even if the pornography actor is not an occultist it’s still wrong to watch it, you would it were you in the movie; don’t let Satan deceive you, it’s one of his greatest ways to invade people.

     But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Mt 5:28

     Hip-hop, hip-life, and all these secular music are familiar objects, as a Christian you must pay the price to reject all these things and cling to Christ alone. We need to also pray always and sanctify anything we buy from the market for our use very well; most of the manufacturers and entrepreneurs are joining occultism these days so that they chant on samples of their produce in order that they would achieve sales. The moment they chant on them they become familiar objects because demons reside in them. You even go and buy Satan and bring him into your chambers without knowing it!

Door five – occult involvement

     Many people have been deceived to join occultism because of need of protection, power, money, fame, etc. Many of these hip-hop stars just sold their souls to the devil in order to get fame and money. It’s useless, don’t join any occultism for these things, if you do you belong to Satan and he owns you. He can kill you at anytime, many people have regretted it for joining those secret societies, it has cost them much, even, some their lives; don’t do it – it’s a trap! For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mt 16:26

     Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, Like a bird from the snare of the fowler. Pr 6:5

Door six – gifts

     A gift can be a mode of invasion; if the one bringing the gift wants to hypnotize you he/she can take that gift to a native doctor for a spell to be   casted on it, it then becomes a familiar object and if you are not prayerful, upon contact the demons in that gift will invade you. If you are a Christian it is not every gift that you should just accept and start using most important food and underwear. Most of the worst things have been done to many Christians through gifts.

     That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich: Gen 14:23

Christians Anointing

 Christians are also anointed when the Holy Ghost baptizes us. Any Christian that has been baptized in the Holy Ghost is an anointed of God to represent Christ on earth.

     Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God. 2Co 1:21

     But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. 1Jo 2:20 

     But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. 1Jo 2:27

     When I was young I always prayed that God should give me the anointing of Elisha which is the double portion of Elijah’s anointing; little did I know that Christ is greater than Elisha, and we Christians operate under the double portion of Christ’s anointing instead of Elijah. Have you prayed that prayer before; or do you still think in the same way? What do you think Jesus meant when he said,

 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” John 14:12

     Elijah did greater works, but Elisha did greater works than him because he was operating under the double portion of Elijah’s anointing; and so are we Christians under that of Christ Jesus. In fact Paul calls this entire salvation work of Christ, “a mystery,” and so he prays for us that we may be enlightened to comprehend what this is all about

 

     We represents Christ on earth; he can only use our hands to deliver the oppressed, heal the sick, and set free the captive; are you going to deny him now? What are you waiting for? In fact this book calls for action; Arise, and get moving – Forward Match!

Because as He is, so are we in this world. 1Jo 4:17^b  

Don’t be an actor for Satan

This is part of a book I am writing which is entitled, "BEWARE OF SATAN," a spiritual warfare book.

Actor simply refers to someone who performs in a play or film.

How can I be an actor for Satan?

      You know, in film acting there is a script which ought to be followed, this script was written by one of the actors or someone else; and they are to do exactly what the script writer meant. Satan don’t have to write his script on a piece of paper or on any physical thing, he just have to whisper into your ears and interrupt your thinking. By the time you are aware, you’ve just done what came into your mind without thinking about the source of that idea.

     Satan, you know, trapped Peter to say what he wanted to say to Jesus, and Peter had to receive the rebuke due Satan!

      From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, "Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!" But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men." Mt 16:21-23

     From the preceding verses Peter made a wonderful confession and was given the keys of the Kingdom of heaven, and right now he has just acted for Satan; are you exempt?

     The Bible presents Satan as our archenemy, but Satan might deceive you to make a human enemy for yourself. How does that happens? Just look around you, those holding resentments against others, those who quarrel with others, those who are angry or have fought with others and are calling them their enemies. Satan wrote the script, everyone acted his or her part, and now the work of Satan has been carried on, wow, Satan is indeed a profound script writer and his intelligence makes them happen!

     If you have ever quarreled with anyone before just start thinking about how the whole thing just started and you will recognize that your enemy played his or her part, likewise you and the whole thing became a film of resentments. The divorced couples, did they marry whilst they were enemies? No! No one will actually marry his or her enemy; they were real lovers. What happened?

     Satan says, “Wow, these couples really love themselves, ok, let me write a script for them to act for me, the title of the script is ‘Divorce!’ Satan writes the script of divorce, he employs them to act, a little disagreement, a little quarrel, everybody plays their parts so well; it grows worst – oh divorce is the only option left, God says “I hate divorce,” Satan says “oh God don’t worry, the mind of these couples are blind now, hold your breath they can’t even hear you, just let them act my play for me, it will be cool for them.” Then those who were once happily married couples are now in court signing divorce forms; they are enemies now!

     Do you have to follow every thought that comes into your mind without comparing it to the word of God whether they agree? Well, you can follow every thought except that don’t be an actor for Satan; don’t let your body become an instrument through which Satan carries most of his plans against humanity!

     For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. 2Co 10:3

     Know your enemy, he is Satan; not a human being! "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.” Mt 5:44

     God hates divorce; never plan one! "For I hate divorce, says the LORD the God of Israel, and covering one's garment with violence, says the LORD of hosts. So take heed to yourselves and do not be faithless." Mal 2:16

     God is love, learn to love, pray for the Spirit of love; never hate any human being on earth whatever he does; he is just in the enemy’s camp and he needs your intercession for his deliverance! If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. 1Jo 4:20, 1Jo 4:3:17; 4:12

Don't make money God

Making Money God

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Mt 6:24

Things to consider

     Imagine this, if somebody said he would sponsor or provide for your every need on this earth, would you still need money for anything? What are your needs; shelter, clothing, food to eat, water to drink; these are the primary needs, then your wants – money to pay for bills and fees, travelling expenses and the likes. Somebody just jumped in and said, hey, I am going to provide for all these needs and wants of yours, what would you still need money for? Money becomes like ordinary paper or metal if you have no need or use of it, it is only as waste as anything good for the garbage can. Like I said elsewhere under chapter one of this book, money is only a paper or metal that has been made legal tender or monetized. Many people are constantly heaping money in their Bank accounts because they have more than necessary and they do not need them, others die just leaving over billions of dollars in their accounts; meanwhile their friends, family or relatives might be living in poverty, they don’t have any feelings of helping them. Here I ask again, why do you work for money, is it because you love to have it more?

Don’t make money god

The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. Ps 135:15 

     You can’t serve two masters! The Greek word for Serve is “Douleuo” to be a slave to - involuntary or voluntary be in bondage, (do) serve(ice). Serve; yield to or regard supremely to something, as are God and this world. The word therefore means to "belong wholly and be entirely under command to." Here, there can be no doubt it is used for riches, considered as an idol master, or god of the heart.

     Mammon is a Chaldee, Syriac, and Punic word, “mammonas,” like Plutus for the money-god (or devil) or as the god of riches. Mammon originally meant "trust," or confidence, and riches is the trust of worldly men. If God be not the object of supreme trust, something else will be, the slave of mammon will obey mammon while pretending to obey God. Mammon may therefore be considered anything a man confides in, i.e., wealth, or all earthly possessions, it is used for money in the Targum of Onkelos. What a man regards supremely is his treasure, or his God, if it be any created thing, he has another god before Jehovah, as it is in this sense, an idolater.

     Here our King forbids division of aim in life; we cannot have two master passions, if we could, it would be impossible to serve both. Their interests would soon come into conflict, and we should be forced to choose between them. You can live for this world, or live for the next; but to live equally for both is impossible. Where God reigns, the lust of gain must go. Oh, to be so decided, that we may pursue one thing only!

     You cannot serve the true God, and at the same time be supremely engaged in obtaining the riches of this world. One must interfere with the other. Our blessed Lord shows here the utter impossibility of loving the world and loving God at the same time; or, in other words, that a man of the world cannot be a truly religious character.  He who gives his heart to the world robs God of it, and, in snatching at the shadow of earthly good, loses substantial and eternal blessedness.  How dangerous is it to set our hearts upon riches, seeing it is so easy to make them our god! This illustrates the need of singleness, that is, whole-hearted devotion, in the service of God. 

     Christ proceeds to illustrate the necessity of laying up treasures in heaven from a well- known fact, that a servant cannot serve two masters at the same time. His affections and obedience would be divided, and he would fail altogether in his duty to one or the other. One he would love and the other hate. To the interests of one he would hold fast, the other he would neglect. This is a law of human nature. The supreme affections can be fixed on only one object. So, says Jesus, the servant of God cannot at the same time obey him and be avaricious, or seek treasures supremely on earth. One interferes with the other, and one will be, and must be surrendered. He cannot give his heart to two services at the same time. He cannot follow two callings successfully. Mammon is the direct opposite of God as much today as in past ages, and we must abhor its greed, its selfishness, its oppression, its pride; or we do not love God.

Things to observe

     Here a two-fold master spoken of - God and the world. God is our master by creation, preservation, and redemption; he has appointed us our works, and secured us our wages.  This world is our master by intrusion, too many regarding it as their chief good, and delighting in it as their chief joy.

     That no man can serve these two masters, who are of contrary interests, and issue out contrary commands; the difficulty of serving both is not great; but where the commands interfere, and interests clash, it is impossible.  No man can serve God and the world, or can seek God and mammon both as his chief good and ultimate end; because no man can divide his heart for God and the world.

     Therefore to love money or the world as our chief good, and to serve the world as our chief and sovereign commander, cannot stand with the love and service which we bear and owe to God.  The world's slaves can be none of God's freemen.

     For a little which a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked, Ps 37:16.
